Greater Manchester Remembers
An online book of remembrance to remember those that we love who have died during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project
Every life is valued and worthy of remembrance.
The GMCA and Manchester Cathedral worked together with Christian Shannon to produce an online book of remembrance for all those who have died as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK.
Where
For all of Greater Manchester; those of all faiths and of none. As a community we can in this way express our compassion and support for those who suffer loss, remember the sorrows and sacrifices of others as well as gratitude for the memories we treasure.
What they needed
The GCMA and the Cathedral needed a place for the Greater Manchester family to come together, be still and reflect on the loved ones that have lost their lives.
We welcomed all parts of our communities and hoped that this book of remembrance and the memorials therein would serve to be a place of refuge, solace and of hope.
"I was very honoured to be asked to do this, and I hope this provides at least a small amount of solace to those that have lost loved ones due to the COVID-19 pandemic".
